It's beautiful, Irene! I think I need to get you to teach me how to paint people! :-)

I don't know if this would work but at times I have had great results by simply laying a painting flat in either direct sun or shade[try both]and photographing straight down on the painting. Try to keep the camera lined up on two edges such as on left and bottom so the image is not catywampus in the camera frame. I am assuming you are using digital. Then from photoshop you can crop it the way you want. Of course I am using single lens reflex in digital so the image is exactly as seen through the lens. Shoot several as it is tough to tell if you are straight with the image while looking down on it. If you use a tripod that is easier. I am probably telling you what you all ready know.
Is still a great piece.

Thanks, Gary. I tried that with the last post of the little girl and got much better results. Thanks for your help.:)

Linda, I'd love to....trade you people for horses. I've always wanted to try.
