Well this is indeed a lovely portrait and I can see from the changes they must have been necessary to make it a portrait for parents but as a painting of an unknown girl I prefer the previous stage which leaves more for the imagination.
I agree with you. I can sometimes be a master of overpainting. I'm not happy with this version, but the resemblance wasn't quite right on the last version. :) I'm going to take a break from it and come back with some medium and one more coat.
